Day 10

The last day of camp always brings a bittersweet taste. On one hand, you have the comfort of home awaiting just a few hours away. On the other, a group of new tightly knit friends, about to split, not to see each other again possibly for a long time.

The atmosphere at this camp has been incredible. The kids were in high spirits throughout, and we the coaches had an amazing time teaching them at skiing, as they taught us a little bit of how to be a kid again. In other words, the showed us a glimpse of the unencumbered, unrelenting happiness of a world that they live in 24/7. We thank all of them for such a great time.

Tomorrow we will leave the houses that we have called home for the past 10 days at 8:30AM for the airport. Home is close at hand, and I am sure you are all excited to see your kids again! We will see you very soon!

Day 9

Day 9 was HOT! The snow is melting quick up at Mt. Hood, and I think we are leaving just in time. One more day tomorrow, we will be jumping into full gate slalom training. Today was very beneficial training brushes as well as stubbies, and we feel that the kids are really starting to get a good sense for line.

After skiing today we did regeneration at our own houses and then took the kids for a nice cold swim in the river on this humid day, which was a relief for all. Shortly after that we all met at one of our house for a dance party! The kids, as usual, were full of unrestrained energy.

Tomorrow is our last day! We will be doing one last cookout at Wildwood park and having a "jello drop" which is a tradition for us. Please check in for all the pictures! Here are some from today. There are close to 200 so if you don't see that many please check back in a little later. Enjoy!
